Embroidery Design

Embroidery includes several different techniques: Monograms, Appliques, and 3D embroidery.

A monogram is a design consisting of two or more initials used to add decoration to many items including caps, polo shirts, tote bags and many accessory items.

Applique is ornamental needlework in which pieces of fabric of different shapes are sewn onto a garment or blanket to form a picture or logo design. The advantage of applique is that you can create complex pictures with a lower stitch count this process usually makes the design less dense and give a softer feel.

3D embroidery or Puff embroidery as it is sometimes known is a process that uses a foam piece that is placed under the embroidery stitches and gives the embroidery a raised look. This process is popular on Caps.

The types of stitching styles available in embroidery are Satin stitch which places the stitching in columns, Fill stitch which places the stitches in a fill pattern which can more accurately define an embroidered shape. There is also a border stitch which is a satin stitch that outline a shape or letter and is uniform in appearance.
